October Already by Rebecca
Today marks the first day of October. Funny, I had hardly begun to believe that it was September and then all of the sudden, it’s October! This month brings fall break, midterms, registration for spring classes and Halloween (which happens to be my boyfriend’s birthday as well). It’s strange to think that we’re already registering for spring classes. I feel like summer was just here and I was worrying about if I would be able to find all of my classes.
I had my first exam this week. Funny, when I started college I assumed that I would be starting in with tests and exams the second week at the latest. Now it is the sixth week (still having a hard time believing that one) and I had my first exam on Thursday. I’m not worried about it though. It’s in my child development class and I really like that class so I pay attention and I haven’t missed that class once. My instructor was also kind enough to make a study sheet for us, so we knew exactly what topics would be covered. I think I did pretty well on it.
Though I was well-prepared for that exam, I was not so prepared for a “quiz” that I had to take today in my communications class. We found out we were having the test today on Wednesday, so I only had two days to prepare. I was really worried about it while studying and before I took it, but I think I did okay on it. Plus, it’s only 20 points so I have plenty of chances to make up those points if by chance I did fail.
I’m really looking forward to scheduling my classes. I’ll be the first to admit, I’m a super nerd. I’ve already looked at the class catalogue for next semester and have made two possible schedules for next semester already and I’m hoping to get one more, just in case I’m not able to get into certain classes. I like to have things planned out ahead of time so that I’m not scrambling at the last minute.
I hope October has started out well so far for you all. I’m sure it will fly by almost as fast as September did.
