Honors Learning Community offers great travel opps
Being part of the Honors College is about more than just academics; it’s about being in a challenging environment with peers who have the same desire to learn.
I have become best friends with people in the Honors College and learned so much just by being in an atmosphere where the students want to get the most out of each class they take and enjoy their experiences.
I found that joining the Honors Learning Community was a great way to meet people with the same interests as me, and to explore new places with my best friends.
My freshman year, being in the HLC gave me the opportunity to go to Chicago with a bus full of my friends from the Honors College.
We got to explore the city, tour museums, go to shows and eat lots of great pizza.
Being in this community has been a great way for me to make some amazing friends and to learn by doing, rather than just reading from a textbook.
The community takes trips to Chicago, Washington, D.C., Stratford, and several other places every year to give students a fun learning experience.
I’ve learned a lot by being in the community, but most importantly, I found people who want to make the most out of their college experience.
They want to do well in their academic work, but they also want to embrace the opportunities they are given and learn in the most enjoyable ways.
