Going by Fast by Rebecca
This past week I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. If college is going by this fast, what does this mean for the rest of my life? It’s over halfway through November, I’ve been here three months, and I only have three weeks till exams (which I only have one of—definitely okay with that). I’m still stuck in September, third week of classes, where I called my boyfriend at least once a week telling him to come pick me up. I’m starting to think that it’s not going to be as bad as I thought.
I think the fact that college is for such a short period of time, relatively, that it seems to go by so fast. I keep thinking that in three years, I’m going to be three weeks from being completely done with college, since I’m on track to graduate a semester early.
Trying to think about being done with college is crazy. If you really think about it, I’ve been in school for all but a few years of my life. I started preschool when I was three, and now I’m 18. I don’t think I can actually visualize a life without classes and homework. Luckily, I’ll spend my whole life teaching, so I won’t have to do as much adjusting as other students here.
Early Education Majors spend three semesters learning methods and how to teach. I like that Bowling Green gets students into the classroom really quickly to help them realize if teaching is a good choice for them. PCC goes a step further by trying to get us actually teaching lessons and not just tutoring. But, that’s not going to apply to all of the students going to BGSU.
I honestly don’t know much about other programs but talking to students in the program you like to see how they like it. Current students are perfect people to ask. Just a piece of advice!
Till next time,
Rebecca
