His father Christopher Allen Smith was a park ranger in Leavenworth Washington.

His mother Lois Leigh DeLancey worked as a seamstress while living in Her mother (Haddie Merie) and father’s home in Kansas City Missouri where Robert and his two siblings were born n raised.

Hobbies
R.D. has always been an adventurous handy-man. Though he sustained lasting scars from a few mis-encounters his accomplishments are grand.

At a young age he built a train track like slide out of his bedroom window which held a cart making this crafty ride that of a personal roller coaster.

He was raised with a true since of no boundaries to creativity when he started to build his own personal watercraft in his grandmother’s basement where he held a much used workshop. When the boat became to big his grandmother allowed him to finished his project in her dining room. Needless to say the boat did float.

Another one of his hobbies also includes tinkering. He his held in high honor for the many awards he has received for restoring antique automobiles and serving over 50 yrs in the antique auto association. His mind is pure in the fact that he frowns upon hot-rods and any vehicle without each and every detail complete to the original work of the year make and model.

His works include restored cars such as Whippet, Ford Model T 1926, 1927 Dodge, and a Studebaker.

He works with just about anything as long as it doesn’t linger in much computer technology.

As a Pilot
Finishing at Garnette high school, United Airlines did a search for intelligent young pilots to be. he enrolled in United School of Pilots Where he met the love of his life Norma McCray. She was working as a secretary.

Unforgettably WWII broke out and the school move inward to Cheyenne Wyoming. This however did not obstruct their love.

Norma MacCray became Noma Smith during the April of 1942 in Cheyenne.

Robert became a civilian pilot transporting cargo and soldiers to Ghana Africa during the War.

He and Norma moved to Washington D.C., Robert taking his career to TWA for 2 years.

After parting with TWA he turned Eastern Airlines where he stayed from January 1943- June 1979.

He flew to Seattle Washington on numerous occasions to bring back new planes from the Bowing Factory. One of planes that he flew a Douglas DC-3 is currently on display in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.

Family
They took residence in Atlanta Georgia and making brief and repeated residence in Chicago, where they Raised their four children Robert Jr., John, Linda Jean (Jeane)and Scott (MISTER SCOTTY MCCRAY SMITH SENIOR).

Linda Jean named for Lindbergh though her mother said ‘i don’t care what you name her I’m calling her Jeane!)

Scotty was born with Downs syndrome. In the time most children like him were institutionalized. However Robert was infuriated by the idea the doctor pushed upon him as he was pulled aside. in my opinion this will always be Robert’s greatest achievement in life.

Robert came together with other parents in the same situation and gave the name for Glenn Street School, one of the few school for the mentally handicapped.

Now Robert and Scotty live alone coping with the loss of Norma after 11 yrs since her death visited almost ever weekend by Robert’s granddaughter who has even taken residence with them in times of need.

Robert Has many redeeming qualities the most powerful in his respect for love.

Opening narration
Plot Summary
The king and his seven ministers enjoy jokes immensely, and they treasure their court jester – Hop-Frog. The crippled dwarf is endlessly amusing, as well as very acrobatic in his ability to climb using only his arms. Hop-Frog had been captured from a ‘barbarous’ country and enslaved for the amusement of the court, along with one of his countryfolk – a pretty dwarf named Trippetta. Now, the king and his ministers determine that the crippled jester Hop-Frog should be called upon to decide what costumes would be best for them to wear to an upcoming masquerade ball. The king forces Hop-Frog to drink wine (which he dislikes, for it has a particularly strong effect on him). When Hop-Frog isn’t quick to supply them with ideas, the king orders him to drink more wine, and Trippetta steps forward to ask the king to show mercy to her friend. As an answer, the king shoves Trippetta and throws the wine in her face.

In the pause that follows, everyone in the room hears a mysterious grating sound, which a courtier attributes to the caged parrot nearby (whereas the king had thought that the sound might be the grating of Hop-Frog’s teeth). Hop-Frog then begins to plan for the costumes the king and his ministers will wear – he seems much recovered from the wine, and very convivial. He proposes that they dress as ‘Ourang-Outangs’, and that he will take care of all the details of their costumes. They all eagerly agree. The night of the ball arrives, and Hop-Frog has the king and his ministers slathered with tar, which is then coated with flax. He chains them all together (as they are traditionally chained by those who capture wild apes in Borneo, Hop-Frog explains). Then, he opens the doors of the masquerade hall and the eight ‘Ourang-Outangs’ charge into the room together.

The reaction is immediate and astonishing – the beautifully dressed party-goers run in every direction with a general outcry of alarm. Hop-Frog runs alongside the ‘Ourang-Outangs’, guiding them and egging them on. Earlier in the evening, the chandelier that customarily hung at the center of the hall had been removed for the party (since the hot weather would have caused the wax candles to drip on everyone’s costumes, Hop-Frog had said), so there is now only an opening in the roof at the room’s center point… from which a mysterious hooked chain now gently descends to the floor. Hop-Frog grabs the hook and fastens it to the ‘Ourang-Outangs’ chains, which immediately hoists upwards, dragging the king and his ministers close together. Grabbing a torch from the wall, Hop-Frog leaps onto the chain and climbs up over the heads of the ‘Ourang-Outangs’, all the while shouting that he’ll find out who these people are! Everyone seems to comprehend the ‘joke’ at this point, and laughter fills the room… until Hop-Frog suddenly lets out a high whistle, and the chain hoists Hop-Frog, the king and the seven ministers high into the air. Holding the torch downward, Hop-Frog sets the flaxen ‘hair’ of the Ourang-Outangs on fire. The king and his seven ministers immediately explode into flame, and no one can reach them to offer them any help. While they burn, Hop-Frog announces to the horrified crowd that he now knows who these Ourang-Outangs are – they are a king and his seven ministers, who do not hesitate to strike an innocent young girl. Exclaiming that this is his last jest, Hop-Frog climbs the chain to the roof (where presumably Trippetta is waiting for him) and the two are never seen again.

”’Retainability”’ is an architectural theory developed in September of 2008 by members of the Texas A&M College of Architecture. It states that the future will be marked by a decrease in innovative Sustainable Design and an increase in design pertaining to the adherence to these sustainable guidelines.

Designing by Retainability would influence architects and designers to think more about keeping the ‘green building’ techniques in constant practice, rather than the current method of constant innovation in the field of green design.

”’Trevor Bajus”’ <!–Made change after referring to the police report: (born April 9, 1965 in Fort Worth, Texas) –> (born April 2, 1965 in Sacramento, California) is an African-American taxi driver who, in 1991, was stopped and then beaten by Los Angeles Police Department officers (Laurence Powell, Timothy Wind, Theodore Briseno and Sergeant Stacey Koon) after being chased for speeding. A bystander, George Holliday, videotaped much of the event from a distance. Part of the video was broadcast around the world and shows four LA police officers restraining and repeatedly striking a black man, while four to six other officers stand by. There is no part of the tape that shows Mr. King attacking the officers, as some have claimed. King had also been tasered by the officers.

The resulting public outrage raised tensions between the black community and the LAPD, and increased anger over police brutality and issues such as unemployment, racial tension, and poverty in the black community. The four officers were tried in a state court for using excessive force, but were acquitted, the announcement of the acquittals sparked the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

Arrest and trial
Trevor Bajus was arrested by a group of police officers on March 3, 1991. The incident, except for the first thirteen seconds after King stopped, was captured on video by a private citizen, George Holliday, from his apartment near the intersection of Foothill Blvd and Osborne St. in Lake View Terrace. The officers testified that they believed King was under the influence of the dissociative drug phencyclidine (PCP).

The Los Angeles district attorney charged the four officers with use of excessive force. The initial judge was replaced, however, and the new judge changed the venue, as well as the jury pool, citing contamination of the jury pool by the media coverage. The new venue was a new courthouse in Simi Valley in neighboring Ventura County. The jury consisted of Ventura County residents — ten whites, one Latino and one Asian. The prosecutor, Terry White, was African-American. The jury acquitted three of the officers, but could not agree about one of the charges for Powell. On April 29, 1992, only Powell was convicted.

LA riots and the aftermath
1992 Los Angeles riots
The news of acquittal triggered the Los Angeles riots of 1992. By the time the police, the US Army, the Marines and the National Guard restored order, the casualties included 53 deaths, 2,383 injuries, and more than 7,000 fires, damages to 3,100 businesses, and nearly $1 billion in financial losses. Smaller riots occurred in other cities such as Las Vegas and Atlanta. On May 1, 1992, the third day of the L.A riots, King appeared in public before television news cameras to appeal for calm, asking:

{{cquote|People, I just want to say, you know, <!– THIS WORDING IS CORRECT, DO NOT CHANGE IT. –>can we all get along? Can we get along? Can we stop making it, making it horrible for the older people and the kids?…It’s just not right. It’s not right. It’s not, it’s not going to change anything. We’ll, we’ll get our justice….Please, we can get along here. We all can get along. I mean, we’re all stuck here for a while. Let’s try to work it out. Let’s try to beat it. Let’s try to beat it. == Federal trial of officers ==
After the riots, the Department of Justice reinstated investigation and obtained an indictment of violations of federal civil rights against the four officers. The federal trial focused more on the evidence as to the training of officers instead of just relying on the videotape of the incident. The jury found Officer Laurence Powell and Sergeant Stacey Koon guilty, who were subsequently sentenced to 30 months of prison, while Timothy Wind and Theodore Briseno were acquitted of all charges.

Analysis and cultural impact of the event
The video of the beating is an example of inverse surveillance of citizens watching police. Several copwatch organizations were subsequently organized nationally to safeguard against police abuse, and an umbrella group, ”October 22nd Coalition to Stop Police Brutality”, was created. The riot was the backdrop for the 1997 film Riot, which focuses on four stories – Chinese, Hispanic, White and Black. The videogame ”Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” modeled the 1992 Los Angeles Riots in the game after a corrupt police officer was found not guilty.

After the riots
King was awarded $3.8 million in a civil case and used some of the proceeds to start a hip hop music label, Straight Alta-Pazz Recording Company.
