Kevin M. Touhey was born in Passaic, NJ in 1951. He is an American author, motivational speaker and professional life coach. He lives in Meford, NJ with his family.

He grew up in poverty along with his nine brothers and sisters. His father held 50 different
jobs during his childhood and was totally unemployed during a three year period. He attended six different grammar schools by the time he reached the 5th grade and lived in eight different homes by the time he was 10.

== [[Education]] ==

Kevin Touhey received a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Administration from Kean University of New Jersey in 1974 and a Masters in Sports Management from Cortland State University of New York in 1978. He is accredited in Business and Personal Coaching through Coach University of Houston and Energy Management and Physiology through The Heartmath Institute in California.

He was the Director of Community Education in Wharton, NJ from 1975 to 1977. He then served as Assistant Director of Student Activities and Assistant Basketball Coach at Cortland State University from 1977 to 1979. Between 1979 and 1985, he held different positions at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa: he was the Director of Athletics, Head Varsity Coach, and Director of Student Activities. He was elected to the school’s Hall of Fame in 1990.
He was the Head Junior Varsity coach and Assistant Varsity Coach for UPENN’s basketball team from 1985 to 1988.

He is also a New Jersey Development Provider where he educates high school teachers who need subsequent learning. He has served as an inspirational optimistic Life Coach since 1993, conducting workshops, speeches, and individual coaching sessions for professionals — teachers, administrators, athletic department staff and business leaders – as well as high school and college students.

He wrote ‘The Miracle of Optimism’ which became available on Amazon.com on January 22, 2008. On that date, his book finished at #2 on the ‘Amazon.com Hot New Releases’ book chart and #3 in Nation Wide Personal Transformation releases.

He is currently hosting ‘The Miracle Show’ on Blog Talk Radio and working on his next book, ‘Competing With Compassion’.
