History of Commonwealth Judo

Following a meeting held at the 1983 World Championships in Seoul, South Korea, The Commonwealth Judo Association was formed. Mr. Owen Clarke (Scotland) was the first President and Mr. Harry O’Rourke (New Zealand) the first Chairman. Mr. O’Rourke then followed Owen and is the current President of the CJA.

Taylor Municipal Airport is located on Highway 79 North West of Taylor. The Airport is an important component of economic development for the City of Taylor and the region. The Texas Department of Transportation Aviation Division has classified the airport as a general utility business service airport.

Airport fly-in events are scheduled several times a year and include aircraft from all over the region. For additional information on these events contact Danny Thomas at 512-352-3633 ext 39 or call the Airport at 512-352-5747.
