Anthony Miller (murderer): “

83.198.12.174:

”’Anthony Miller”’ became the second-last criminal to be executed in Scotland on December 22, 1960 when he was hanged at Glasgow’s [[Barlinnie Prison]] by [[Robert Leslie Stewart]] for the murder of John Cremin on Queen’s Park Recreation Ground (near [[Hampden Park]]) on April 6, 1960. At 19 years of age, he was also the last teenager to be judicially executed in the United Kingdom.

James Denovan – Miller’s 16-year-old accomplice – was sentenced to be detained at Her Majesty’s Pleasure. As a 16-year-old, he was too young to face the death penalty.

Miller’s execution was the last to take place at Barlinnie.
