Musical structure
It is placed as a stark contrast to the previous number, ‘Madness’. It is short, silent and moody, and features a rather new invention at the time: an arpeggiator, sounding like a flute or any wind instrument. The title is another word for ‘daydream’.
Composer Claude Debussy also wrote a song called ‘Reverie’.
Personnel
*Elton John – piano
*Paul Buckmaster – arp
