the soldier butterfly(danaus eresimus) is very similare to the monark butterfly but can be distinguist by its darker wing colour.this butterfly ranges from texas-peru and west indies.this butterfly was observed on curacao in december and january,during the peak of the rainy season.it was seen at various locations(west point,cas abou,malpais,savonet)but this uncommon species was only locally numerous.
