”’Simon Wing”’ (1827-1911)
Was a famous daguerrotypist and camera inventor. He was born in Albans ME. His dates are alternately given as 1826-1916.
Wing opened his first photography studio in Waterville ME in 1856. His innovative ideas and designs were financially profitable, and in two decades Wing owned photography studios in 20 cities.
He was the [[Socialist Labor Party]]’s first Presidential nominee in 1892.
