DRI DUCK History
Design Resources Inc. (DRI) was formed in 1995 and concentrated primarily on developing products and sourcing apparel for fulfillment and catalog distribution. DRI went from supplying major Branded Private Label programs to creating their own Brand of apparel in 2003 known as DRI DUCK. The name DRI DUCK has it’s origin from the fabric commonly known as ‘duck’ cloth. DRI DUCK designers and fabric experts perfected the traditional cotton canvas that was available in the marketplace. The result brought the innovation of a proprietary new cloth which revolutionized work wear. Finally, a durable cotton canvas product that is soft to the touch.
In DRI DUCK’s second year as a Brand, they responded to an increasing demand for other high quality and outdoor inspired clothing in the performance fabrics category. This led to the innovation of another unique product-a completely waterproof and breathable Cotton Canvas work and outdoor jacket. An expansion into soft shell garments rounded out this new category of waterproof, breathable garments for the work wear market.
As a result of their exciting new Authentic Wildlife Headwear, DRI DUCK had a growth spurt in 2005. These highly designed, intricately embroidered hats became an instant success and a signature product of DRI DUCK. Authentic Wildlife headwear interpretations of over 50 beautiful nature and animal scenes quickly became synonymous with Wildlife by DRI DUCK. These collectible caps feature Copyrighted (©) artwork which is created in-house by DRI DUCK Graphic Designers and Illustrators. Expertise in this specialized process enables DRI DUCK to release several new designs a year and maintain its position as the leader in the Wildlife headwear market.
2007 was another milestone year for DRI DUCK as a new state of the art Distribution center was built and occupied in April. They acquired the license to manufacture Realtree work wear. The partnership between Realtree and DRI DUCK presented a number of opportunities for both companies to branch out into new areas. Realtree Founder, Bill Jordan (outdoorsman) stated, ‘We are pleased to welcome DRI DUCK to the Realtree family. ‘They are innovators within the work wear market, and we’re sure our mutual customers will be very happy with the new and different items that DRI DUCK is bringing to the hunting market.’ 2007 ended on a strong note when DRI DUCK they pioneered a Shades of Green in-house environmental and sustainability initiative.
In 2008, DRI DUCK was part of a NASCAR partnership with REALTREE ® as a co-sponsor of the Richard Childress Racing #21 car driven by Bobby Labonte which raced in the Daytona Nationwide Series on February 16, 2008.
DRI DUCK continues to invent clothing that works with various lifestyles and provides the marketplace with consistently high quality and functional clothing.
