Re-presenting a Resume

Posted by jross in English 207

As the technological age continues to progress, I believe it’s becoming more and more important to integrate online literacies into our everyday lives. For the past 6-8 years of my life i’ve been taught to do a resume in a pretty standard form. Since then, I’ve come in contact with eResumes, and ePortfolio’s that present the same information in a more e-friendly way. I believe that having a resume available on a domain will make it easier for employers to view. It also allows creativity.

Changing view of Literacy.

Posted by jross in English 207

When I first entered this class, I had to pretty good idea of what literacies were. Growing up in grade school, we learn to read, write, and interpret. These were my intial introductions to literacies. Throughout time, literacies have changed, and through this class, i’ve gained a better understanding of why and how. The most influential literacies to me to our current generation is communicating through technology. I think it’s affected us greatly and will continue to.

Portfolio Preview

Posted by jross in English 207

1. In my reflective introduction I would like to include my thoughts about the class before taking part in it, how these thoughts developed, what I most enjoyed, and what assignments were most intriguing.

2. I will first want my reader to see the creativity of my portfolio

3. I want my pages to look e-friendly. I also want my pages to be indivually presented based on what assignment I am adding to a page.

4. To introduce my self, I may do a podcast or video.

Peer Review Feedback

Posted by jross in English 207

After recieving feedback from my peers I realized that I had not considered adding relevant coursework to my experience.  I think I might add my relevant course work. Before submitting the final copy on monday. I also plan to rework my cover letter to include more interest in the organization itself, as well as some experience that tailors to the job.

I’ve actually finished both the resume and the cover letter. I could use some suggestions but for the most part, I’m pretty confident in my work.

Resume’s

Posted by jross in English 207  Tagged

Resume’s are a visual account of one’s experience’s in the work force, as well as their qualifications and employee qualities, that presents them in a way that is marketable to employers and companies. I first started working on resumes back in 6th grade. At the time I wasn’t too aware of what they were, nor there purpose but since then I’ve gained more knowledge and insight on the value of a quality resume. One of my closest friends is a Director of Human Resources and helps critique my resume and cover letter. I look forward to working on assignment #5!

My peer review session went well. My group and I, took the time to discuss each other’s rough drafts in depth. This allowed us to both give and receive instrumental feedback, that will help us finalize the developemtns of our paper.
