Unit 3: Professional Literacies

Resume and Cover Letter

For the resume and cover letter assignment we were asked to find an advertisement in an newspaper or journal, on the internet, or through some other option, and write a resume and cover letter in response to the advertisement we find. We also were asked to include a one-page reflection that addresses how your resume/cover letter are tailored to the job we are are “applying” for. I applied for an intern position with InnerVision Marketing Solutions. The job description ask for web editors, journalists, graphic artists, and videographers. Below you can find my cover letter and resume for the web editing position and a reflection of how my resume and cover letter fit the employers needs, and how they were written to cater to the job posting.

Re-Seeing Literacy

For the re-seeing literacy project we were asked to use the resume we created for class, and present the information in a new way. As a communications major, one common trend in modern day communications is the integration of computer mediated communications in the business world. Below you can find a link to my eResume, which takes what would traditionally be on a paper resume and transforms it to a user friendly and appealing electronic version. This ePortfolio also includes an interactive blog that allows visitors to interact directly with me and other visitors.

  4. Reading this reminds me of my old room mate. That guy was one of the smartest persons I know, but he was a little too original for my tastes though. Anyways I appreciated reading this, thanks. Will give me something to go into when I see him.
