Revision

Posted by jross in English 207  Tagged

Revision is the process of reading through a writing, to correct any type of errors that may need correcting. Some would also call this process proofreading. It is important to revise and proofread to ensure that your intended message is delivered at its highest quality. Revision can be done by anyone; students, self, peers, professors, etc.

  1. I agree with most of your definition of what revision is. I think that proofreading is a part of revision but revision is not necessarily proofreading. Does that make sense? As I understand it, proofreading is looking for mechanical, spelling, and typographical errors, whereas revision is concerned with those things as well as grammatical and sentence structures. I like how you focused on ensuring that the intended message is delivered. I think that’s a very important part of revision. Great job!
