Changing view of Literacy.

Posted by jross in English 207

When I first entered this class, I had to pretty good idea of what literacies were. Growing up in grade school, we learn to read, write, and interpret. These were my intial introductions to literacies. Throughout time, literacies have changed, and through this class, i’ve gained a better understanding of why and how. The most influential literacies to me to our current generation is communicating through technology. I think it’s affected us greatly and will continue to.

  1. I think it’s interesting out literate our generation is with literacy and how the older generations do not pick up on the new technologies. The generations after us will be even more literate in technology and I wonder if we’ll be as stubborn as our parents are.

  2. I couldn’t agree more with your thoughts about technology. Its interesting to look at society and realize how much technology effects everybody on a daily basis. Technology being a literacy is something I had never thought of before this class and because of this class, I feel like my overall knowledge about literacies has improved.
