For the third consecutive year, Phi Alpha Theta teamed with University Libraries to host the Northwest District Ohio History Day. This year, the event was held at the Bowling Green Middle School on Saturday, March 22nd.
Students from all over Northwest Ohio prepared projects ranging from papers, exhibits, websites, documentaries, and plays. They were then evaluated by a group of volunteer judges on the relationship with the theme, “Rights and Responsibilities,” as well as how to contextualize their event in history. Many of the judges remarked on how wonderful it was to see young students so energetic and knowledgeable about historical topics.

Several Masters and Doctoral students in the Graduate Program in Policy History at BGSU helped with the event by serving as judges. They included: Stephanie Demkowksi, Michael Ginnetti, Rachel Pawlowicz, Joan Eardley, Alex Sycher, Katherine Kleffner, Sherri Bolcevic, Andy Van Camp, Lisa Lamson, Josh Steedman, Joe Faykosh, and Meghan Wonderley. Rachel Pawlowicz and Lisa Lamson were also instrumental in helping set up the event and register students, while Joe Faykosh served as co-coordinator with Steve Charter.
