Podcast Assignment – Business and Twitter

I recently listened to a podcast found at the popular marketing website http://www.ducttapemarketing.com/podcast.php titled Marketing Podcast with Joel Comm.  Joel is the author of the book “Twitter Power – How to Dominate Your Market.”  Businesses today can take advantage of many applications that Twitter has to offer.  One way to implement Twitter into the business field is to have a customer help desk set up.  Customers can Tweet problems or issues they have with the product and get responses almost instantaneously.  Comcast does this for their customers and have had great responses to the program.  Twitter can also be used to build relationships with customers and ask about their needs.  The company can then develop a product to meet those market needs.  Restaurants can take advantage of Twitter through the use of promotional coupons.  Organizations can also post a tweet with a link to their web page directing customers to more in-depth content.  The program Tweet Later is also a helpful program that can schedule tweets in advance for product introductions or other interesting company news.  Collaboration among employees is another big benefit of twitter.  It offers quick feedback regardless of where the employee is located and is cheaper than texts and can be mobile.  These are just a few of the ways that businesses can use the ever popular Twitter.
