Be careful with your ideas. Both of them, especially the first one, are going to end with the audience expecting more. I can understand an ironic ending like with the pencil being so happy that he has sharp tip and celebrating so much that he ends up breaking his tip again, but ending the animation with the conflict unresolved like in the first example may just come across as lazy to the viewer. Also make sure you have a deeper moral or theme to your concepts. These are supposed to be meaningful stories, not just playful animations.

I absolutely love the direction of the first one—I can visualize it really well and it sounds like there will be really cool lighting, sound and camera effects—but it really needs a more solid ending. I could see some sort of twist, like the door actually leading him to the stomach of some monster or a worse situation, I just think a visual “uh-oh” needs to accompany the sound. Very good idea though! With the suspense it would really pull the audience in.

Pencil ending makes me laugh—but I think showing the sharpener as being jammed would be difficult. Also, I think having competition–like with a mechanical pencil and/or pen would add more interest. I’d like to see which direction this takes! =)

i love the irony of the pencil story at the end and i feel it is the stronger story. The story with the alley i feel has been done too many times to make it effetive
