Unit 3

In unit 3, we learned about Resumes/Cover Letters and re-seeing a literacy. I was required to complete two projects. The resume/cover letter assignment included: finding a job ad, writing a resume, and writing a cover letter (applying to the job ad). I used an actual job ad, that I found on monster.com, and I pretended to apply for it. I then wrote a resume and cover letter in correspondence to the job ad. Through the Resume and Cover Letter, I was able to display the various aspects that are included in a resume and cover letter. These aspects include objective, education, skills, experience, and even references. Because I have not graduated yet with an education degree, I had to make a lot of my experiences and degree up, as if I already received them. I pretended that I had already graduated and was looking for a job. My resume displayed the experience and skills that it will in the future. With our resume and cover letter, we were also to include a reflection with the project to explain the whole process.
The second project for this unit was re-seeing a literacy. For the assignment, we wrote about a certain literacy we hold and how it effects us now and will in the future as well. By developing and re-seeing a literacy, I was able to pick a specific literacy (lesson plan) and explain in further detail how I was able to use the different elements of it. By choosing a lesson plan, I was also able to analyze how it is a literacy, how I use it now and in the future, why I chose it, why it is important and what it does that other literacies do not do. On this page, I have displayed the two projects for this unit. Click on the links below to view each project.
