“Body Positivity Campaign,” An Inspirational Call for Body Positivity

About the Video

This video portrays women and their efforts to raise awareness about body image and is a campaign to promote body positivity in our society. It emphasizes the point that “wellness looks different” on every body. There is no ‘one size fits all’ method of being healthy and having a well-cared-for body. Women challenge each other to be mindful of their bodies, and the campaign shows how body wellness can positively impact all aspects of one’s life. How we feel on the inside translates to how we feel and are perceived by others on the outside. When women feel good about their bodies, others will see them as worthy as well. Women deserve to be confident in how they look and to love theirselves unconditionally.

“Sex Education,” A Satirical Discussion on Sex Ed in America

Ohio Requirements for Sex Ed as of 2016
According to the National Conference of State Legislatures website, “The board of education is required to include sexually transmitted infection prevention education, HIV/AIDS prevention education, within the prescribed curriculum for all schools. Prescribes that instruction shall stress abstinence, but shall not exclude other instruction and materials on contraceptive methods and infection reduction measures, and that instruction shall be medically accurate and age-appropriate. Requires each school district to notify the parent or guardian of each pupil about instruction in comprehensive sexual health education and HIV/AIDS prevention education. Allows for the excusal from any such class if the school has received a written request from the student’s parent or guardian.” -Hannah

About the Video

This video was made in 2015 on the discussion of Sexual Education and the lack thereof in many states in America. It is a satirical discussion on the pitfalls of American education of sexuality to students who have questions that need answering. It poses a call to action for better and more universal sexual education and stresses the damage that Abstinence-only education can do to youth, especially for those programs that do not include what consent looks like and how to recognize and accept the decisions of both men and women. It emphasizes the issues of many sexual education programs placing the responsibility on women and young girls to make it clear to guys what is and is not wanted in a physical relationship, but that these programs often do not teach young men and boys to respect the decisions of women, to help them know what positive, enthusiastic consent looks like.

“The Truth About Being A Girl,” A Poem on Womanhood

This inspirational video encourages women to think about themselves as worthy of respect and fair treatment. Women should be comfortable accepting who they are, living the way the want to, and standing up for themselves and what they believe in.

Women are worth more than their looks. As Aija Mayrock says, “Equality is accountability” and speaking up to make sure women are given the same opportunities as men are. People deserve to be who they are, no matter their color, size, ethnicity, or gender identity.

In this video, the truth about being a woman is that women deserve equal rights and will not stop fighting for those until they are no longer a privilege but a truth, a statement. Until equal rights become factual, rather than questionable, the fight will continue for equality.
