The supporting cast of Pioneer Womanfeatures many future TV stars including: David Janssen (The Fugitive), Lance LeGault (Werewolf), and Helen Hunt (Mad About You).
The proud rebel (1958, 99 min.) — Civil War veteran John Chandler (Alan Ladd) combs the country in search of someone who can help his mute son David, who hasn’t spoken since enduring a war tragedy. In his travels, John is forced into working for a wealthy sheep rancher in order to repay a debt to Linnett Moore (Olivia de Havilland), a female farmer. John and Linnett unexpectedly fall in love, and when a gang of men attempts to pilfer her land, John vows to safeguard his sweetheart from the greedy villains.
Buckskin frontier (1943, 77 min.) — Stephen Bent (Richard Dix) is overseeing the construction of one hundred and twenty miles of railroad track designed to cut through the perilous Santa Fe cutoff. But in order to do his job, Bent must face the opposition of land tycoon Jeptha Marr, who is determined to do whatever is necessary to permanently disable plans to build a railroad on that route—even kill. But in an ironic twist of fate, Marr’s beautiful daughter Vinnie (Jane Wyatt) falls for the heroic Bent and surprisingly joins him in the heated battle against her tyrannical father.
