It concerns the Christian story of the Fall of Man: the temptation of Adam and Eve by Satan and their expulsion from the Garden of Eden. Jane Austen’s Life: This film presents a brief biography of Jane Austen (16 December 1775-18 July 1817), and explores the landscapes where she spent her life. Austen lived her entire life as part of a small and close-knit family located on the lower fringes of English gentry, and her works analyze the novels of sensibility of the second half of the eighteenth century. Austen’s biting social commentary was aimed at moral issues, principally the dependence of women on marriage to secure social standing and economic security. Her whose works of romantic fiction set among the gentry have earned her a place as one of the most widely read and most beloved writers in English literature, while her historical importance hinges on her contribution to the transition to nineteenth-century realism. DVD00953
Jane Austen’s Society: This DVD explores the society which Jane Austen was very happy to be part of, looking beyond her novels to her sharp witty correspondence with her sister Cassandra, giving us Jane’s personal impression of life at the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth century. DVD00954
