Estrada discusses the issue of Native Americans being associated with mascots of sports teams. He tell how several high school and even Stanford college has changed their mascots due to the issue. Estrada strongly opposes separating the Native Americans in to competing ethnic groups.
I can see Estrada’s point of view on the matter, but I do not believe it is too offensive to the Native Americans. It can be seen in a supportive manner. Why would a team have a Native American as their mascot if it were a bad thing?
