Blogs (short for weblog) are also (especially more recently) becoming excellent educational tools. In an age where countless professionals keep the public abreast on the latest happenings in their particular field of expertise via weblog, it only makes sense that academic institutions realize the potential benefits of incorporating blogs into the student curriculum. From an educational standpoint, blogs could be used to help students in a number of ways. Journalism majors are the first that come to mind for obvious reasons. Fashion and technology majors could also benefit greatly from having their own blogs, to help them establish what is a growing need for people and businesses to have a web presence.
