Starfall

Starfall is a great website for early and emergent readers. There are activities practicing letter sounds and word families. There are even complete stories that allow readers to click on unknown words and the website will sound it out for the reader. There are literacy-based games and activities relating to seasons and holidays so there is always something new to explore.

Spelling City

Spelling City is a website that allows students to practice their spelling words.  There are options including teaching the words, flashcards, test, and playing a game to help students develop confidence in their spelling words.

Storyline Online

Storyline Online is a website from the Screen Actors Guild Foundation that has videos of children’s stories read aloud. The animated reading is a great way for young readers to experience stories in a new way. Some stories include The Rainbow Fish, Stellaluna, Harry the Dirty Dog, and many more.

Scholastic

Scholastic has many interactive learning opportunities available on their website.  Games address phonics, math, and science skills in a fun and engaging way that students will be excited to play.

Accelerated Reader Book Finder

Students (and their parents) who are looking for reading material at their instructional level will benefit from this website.  Books can be searched by title and any books in the AR database will be returned with the reading level.

Math Magician Games

This website times students in their addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts.  Students move up a level when they achieve a perfect score.  Students will love the challenge while learning their math facts.

PBS Kids

PBS Kids has many games for kids relating to science, math, and early literacy skills.  Students can find a game based on a PBS show to work on these skills.

Kids Click!

Kids Click is a kid friendly search engine.  Kids can search by category, alphabet, or by typing in a search box.  There is also a search for digital media with the categories pictures, sound, and video.

Math Playground is a website devoted to math skills.  There are games, puzzles, and word problems, along with online manipulatives, printable worksheets, and flashcards.

National Geographic Kids

National Geographic Kids has information, pictures, videos, and games devoted to supporting one of kids’ favorite curiosities: animals!  Students can type a search or explore the website through the different categories.
