Summary: Three films tell stories of personal loss, discovery, and transformation. In The cats of Mirikitani, a homeless artist reconciles with his bitter past and finds family, new friends, and a new life. In Pilgrimage, the children of Japanese Americans held in WWII internment camps learn their parents’ hidden history, and in the process rediscover their heritage, help their parents heal, and transform a dark memory into a symbol of hope. In the short animation, Lost and found, children search for a lost mitten and discover lost people, making a brief connection across different worlds.
