Summary: Three films examine modern American war, especially the Iraq War, and the propaganda, political agendas, and deceptions that may underly it. War made easy, based on the bestselling book by Norman Solomon, examines the strategies used by administrations, both Democratic and Republican, to promote their agendas for war from Vietnam to Iraq, and how propaganda and the media are used to persuade the nation that military aggression has been the appropriate response in each situation. The bases are loaded reveals evidence that hundreds of military bases in Iraq are being consolidated into a handful of seemingly permanent, lavishly appointed “mega bases,” despite the official policy that promises an eventual departure of U.S. military from that country. Flight, an animated short, condenses the history of aviation from mankind’s innocent dream of flying through the nightmare of flight’s use as an instrument of war and destruction.
