Summary: Three of Chaplin’s “Little Tramp” silent film shorts. In “Behind the screen,” Charlie’s an overworked stagehand on a movie set that gets blown up in a Keystone-type slapstick frenzy. In “The fireman, ” Charlie is a firefighter who causes more trouble than the fires. When the captain’s sweetheart gets caught in a burning house, Charlie manages to save her, even though he loses the fire engine. In “The rink, ” Charlie is a clumsy waiter who lives another life as Sir Cecil, the graceful rollerskater. When he takes on his chief adversary at a skating party, he turns it into a riot on wheels.
