Summary: Story of a young girl caught in the midst of political intrigue and corruption. Under the leadership of Agamemnon, the Greek army is about to set sail to engage in a great battle, but the winds refuse to blow. When the army grows restless, Agamemnon seeks to improve morale by providing better food, but accidentally slays a sacred deer. His punishment, say the gods, is the sacrifice of his daughter, Iphigenia. Agamemnon sends for Iphigenia with a message that she will marry the great solider Achilles. Iphigenia arrives for the wedding, accompanied by her mother, Clytemnestra–and the tragic story begins to unfold.
