Summary: V. 1: Abilene Town (1946; approx. 89 min) – In the years following the Civil War, the town of Abilene, Kansas is poised on the brink of an explosive confrontation. A line has been drawn down the center of the town where the homesteaders and the cattlemen have come to a very uneasy truce. The delicate peace is inadvertantly shattered when a group of new homesteaders lay down their stakes on the cattlemen’s side of town, upsetting the delicate balance that had existed thus far and sparking an all-out war between the farmers, who want the land tamed and property lines drawn, and the cowboys, who want the prairies to be open for their cattle to roam.
V. 2: Angel and the Badman (1947; approx. 100 min.) – Quirt Evens an all round bad guy is nursed back to health and sought after by Penelope Worth, a quaker girl. He eventually finds himself having to choose between his world or the world in which Penelope lives.
V. 3: Under California Stars (1948; approx. 71 min.) – Roy Rogers’ horse, the fabled Trigger, is the victim of a horse-napping plot in this fast-paced classic western.
V. 4: Santa Fe Trail (1940; approx. 110 min.) – The story of Jeb Stuart, his romance with Kit Carson Holliday, friendship with George Custer and battles against John Brown in the days leading up to the outbreak of the American Civil War.
V. 5: The Outlaw (1943; approx. 116 min.) – Western legends Pat Garrett, Doc Holliday and Billy the Kid are played against each other over the law and the attentions of vivacious country vixen Rio McDonald.
V. 6: Mystery of the Hooded Horseman (1937; approx. 60 min.) – Tex is up against a group of hooded outlaws. When he shoots one, he uses the hood to infiltrate the gang. Almost caught by them, he escapes only to be arrested by the Sheriff who thinks he’s one of the gang.
V. 9: Rage at Dawn (1955; approx. 87 min.) – Peterson Detective Agency operative James Barlow from Chicagois sent out west to bring in the notorious Reno brothers. Complicating matters are Barlow’s feelings for the Reno sister, Laura, who reluctantly keeps house for the boys out of family loyalty. Events heat up and rage surfaces as Barlow sets up the gang in a dawn train robbery.
V. 10: Vengeance Valley (1951 approx. 82 min.) – A cattle baron takes in an orphaned boy and raises him, causing his own son to resent the boy. As they get older the resentment festers into hatred, and eventually the real son frames his stepbrother for fathering an illegitimate child that is actually his, seeing it as an opportunity to get his half-brother out of the way so he can have his father’s empire all to himself.
