BGSU CMA Alumnus Matthew D. Schatt Published in Update (MENC Journal)

BGSU CMA Alumnus Dr. Matthew D. Schatt is now a faculty member at Case Western Reserve University and is having a research paper published in Update: Applications of Research in Music Education. The article, “High School Instrumental Music Students’ Attitudes and Beliefs Regarding Practice: An Application of Attribution Theory ” is appearing in the Spring/Summer 2011 issue of Update. This is a peer-reviewed paper. Update’s focus is to bring current research to both scholars and practitioners in music education; the journal is published by MENC, the Music Educators National Conference.

Piano Faculty Solungga Liu to judge and perform at the International Mozart Competition in Bangkok, Thailand

Dr. Solungga Liu, Assistant Professor of Piano, has been invited to adjudicate the International Mozart Competition in Bangkok between June 3-10, 2011. The international jury consists of pianists from the US and Europe. During the week-long competition contestants from all over the world will perform works by Mozart as well as a wide selection of piano repertoire.

Dr. Liu will also give a recital at the Thai German Cultural Center (Goethe Institute) on June 5.
