Huron, Ohio – Just in time for Halloween, Bowling Green State University Firelands College Theatre presents “Carrie, the Musical,” October 29-31, in McBride Auditorium on the Huron campus.

Based on the classic novel by horror master Stephen King, Carrie weaves the tale of a bullied and abused teenager who discovers within her the power to strike back.

A musical powerhouse, Carrie’s catching score alternates between kinetic, pop/rock infused turns and soaring grand opera-esque arias by the composing team of Michael Gore & Dean Pitchford, best known for their original work on the motion picture Fame.

Directed by Caryl Crane Youth Theatre Artistic Director Brian Marshall, Carrie stars BGSU Firelands student Abby McLaughlin in the title role opposite award-winning actress Jennifer Myor (Best Actress, Me and My Girl, Cleveland Times, 2010; Best Actress, Hampton Roads Best of the Best, Little Women, 2014) as the overbearing mother Margaret. Featuring a cast of 20, a slew of special effects, and 30 gallons of simulated pig blood, Carrie is sure to be a night you’ll never forget!

The production is Rated R and for mature audiences.

Tickets for Carrie go on sale Monday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. and can be purchased by calling 419.626.1950 or ordering online at www.sanduskystate.com
