Norwalk resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Evelyn M. Drake of Norwalk has received the Sally DeForest Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. She will receive $792 towards tuition for the 2015-2016 academic year.
This scholarship was established by the Sally DeForest Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. This scholarship is available to graduates from all high schools in Huron and Lorain counties and Edison High School. It is available to full- and part-time students.
Drake is a 1975 graduate of New London High School.
She is a freshman majoring in computer science technology at BGSU Firelands.

Port Clinton resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Michelle Ashlee Fillmore of Port Clinton has received the Student Government Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. She will receive $742 towards tuition for the 2015-2016 academic year.
This award is available to students with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better in college or a “B” average or better in high school. Financial need will also be considered.
Fillmore is a 2012 graduate of Port Clinton High School.
She is a senior majoring in social work at BGSU Firelands where she has been on the Dean’s List. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
She is the daughter of Stacy Fillmore of Port Clinton.

Norwalk resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Sydney Jean Kramer of Norwalk has received the James E. Cole Memorial Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. She will receive $140 towards tuition for the 2015-2016 academic year.
This scholarship is available to seniors from Norwalk or St. Paul high schools. High school academic achievement plus potential for scholarly success in college are primary considerations for this scholarship.
Kramer is a 2014 graduate of St. Paul High School.
She is a freshman majoring in human services at BGSU Firelands where she has been on the Dean’s List. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. In her sparetime, she has volunteered with the Ridgefield Country Kids 4-H Club, Huron County 4-H Camp, and Huron County Jr. Fair Board.
She is the daughter of Matthew and Kelly Kramer of Norwalk.

Huron resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Nicole M. Luzader of Huron has received the William C. Schaffer to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. She will receive $793 towards tuition for the 2015-2016 academic year.
Audrey Shafer established the William C. Shafer Scholarship in 2008 in memory of her late husband, who passed away in 1991. He encouraged her to continue her education as a non-traditional student. It was his wish to establish a scholarship at BGSU Firelands in appreciation of the opportunities it provides for non-traditional students. The recipient must be a non-traditional student at BGSU Firelands pursing a four-year bachelor of science in business administration. Preference is given to graduates of Sandusky High School, or Erie County if no Sandusky High School graduate exists. Financial need is a factor.
Luzader is a 2010 graduate of Huron High School.
She is a senior majoring in business administration at BGSU Firelands where she has been on the Deans List.
She is the daughter of Vince and Jessie Luzader of Huron.

Milan resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Kendra Leigh Pippin of Milan has received the Milan Chamber of Commerce Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. She will receive $500 towards tuition for the 2015-2016 academic year.
This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a graduate or candidate for graduation from Edison High School. The recipient must be enrolled on a full-time basis, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and demonstrate financial need.
Pippin is a 2015 graduate of Edison High School where she earned the Coaches Award for soccer and was named Student of the Quarter. While in high school she was active in French Club, Key Club, Math Club, Interact Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Teen Leadership Corps, soccer, basketball, softball, and volleyball.
She is a freshman at BGSU Firelands.
She is the daughter of Charles and Ann Pippin of Milan.

Huron resident receives scholarship to attend BGSU Firelands
Huron, Ohio – Jenna Renee Witter of Huron has received the Huron Rotary Club Scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University Firelands College. She will receive $1,000 towards tuition for the 2015-2016 academic year.
Applicants must be graduates, or candidates for graduation from Huron High School, St. Mary’s Central Catholic, or EHOVE and they must reside in the Huron City School District. The recipient must have community service hours.
Witter is a 2015 graduate of Huron High School where she was consistently on the honor roll and participated in varsity softball.
She is a freshman majoring in radiologic technology at BGSU Firelands.
She is the daughter of Ron and Christina Witter of Huron.
