HURON, OH: “A Whole New World.” Caryl Crane Youth Theatre is presenting, for the first time ever, its Fall Repertory season, featuring the Disney favorites Aladdin & Camp Rock, September 5–15, 2013, in the McBride Auditorium on BGSU Firelands Campus.
All of your favorite animated characters are onstage in Disney’s Aladdin, the fun-for-the-whole-family stage adaptation of the Disney hit film. Filled with magic, mayhem, and showcasing our talented 8-12 year old actors, singers & dancers, Aladdin is sure to have audiences’ spirits soaring with excitement. Most of all, the tuneful, Academy award-winning score, with songs including “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me,” will certainly make this musical a favorite for many years to come! Aladdin plays September 6 & 13 at 7:30 pm and September 7, 8, 14 & 15 at 2:00 pm. For tickets, call 419-372-0747, beginning Tuesday, September 3 at 1 pm.
Disney’s Camp Rock, featuring the CCYT Teen Board, brings together the music from two Disney Channel Original Movie musicals Camp Rock 1 & 2: The Final Jam. A fun summer at rock-n-roll camp is interrupted when a new, flashy camp across the lake pops up and threatens Camp Rock’s very existence. To keep the doors open, Mitchie steps up, rallies her fellow Camp Rockers, and gets them into top shape for the ultimate showdown! This new musical, great for the whole family, fires up the stage with over a dozen songs, including “This Is Me,” “Can’t Back Down,” “It’s On,” and “We Rock.” Camp Rock plays September 5, 7, 12 & 14 at 7:30 pm, and September 8 & 15 at 6:30 pm. Featuring 76 students from 18 area schools, The Fall Repertory Season is directed by Caryl Crane Youth Theatre Artistic Director Brian Marshall, and alternates performances on the McBride Auditorium stage in the North Building on BGSU Firelands Campus September 5-15, 2013. Tickets range from $4-$10, and can be purchased at the BGSU Firelands Box Office, or by calling 419-372-0747. Box office for both shows opens September 3rd at 1:00 p.m.
Both productions are recommended for children ages 3 and up. Rated G.
