BGSU Firelands Announces Financial Aid Nights

Huron, Ohio – Starting college can be daunting task whether you are a senior in high school or someone who elects to start later in life. Selecting the academic institution that is right for you, picking a major, and filling out applications can be challenging; however, Bowling Green State University Firelands College wants to help with one of the most perplexing tasks – arranging your financial aid.
“College financial aid can be very intimidating to students and parents,” said BGSU Firelands Director of Enrollment Management & Student Retention Services Debralee Divers. “We want to be able to help eliminate some of that angst and make the process go more smoothly.”
Throughout the next two month, BGSU Firelands will host a number of Financial Aid Nights which are open to the public and will offer insight into how to best approach the financial aid process.
BGSU Firelands staff members will be available to answer questions and will discuss topics such as the major federal financial aid programs, how financial aid amounts are determined, how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and how to avoid making errors, where to look for information about private sources of financial aid, and how to avoid being scammed.
“We encourage anyone who is considering college to attend,” said Divers. “The information provided is pertinent to traditional students and their parents and non-traditional students.”

Tuesday, Jan. 3 – Norwalk High School – 6 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 4 – Willard High School – 6 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 4 – BGSU Firelands – 7 p.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 10 – Bellevue High School – 7 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 11 – Perkins High School – 7 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 12 – Lorain High School – 6 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 18 – South Central High School (Greenwich) – 6 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 23 – New London High School – 6 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 25 – Margaretta High School – 6 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 12 – BGSU Firelands College Goal Sunday – 2:00 p.m.
