Speech #4 Refelction
I think that i did okay on this speech. It wasn’t my best, and i definitely didn’t do as well as when i practiced. I knew that my speech would take a lot of time, so i tried to come prepared with parts of it already done, but that didn’t seem to help.
I think that i got distracted by the class. A few people made comments or started giggling and that threw me off. I then kind of went with with because of my nerves so it threw me off on my spot.
One thing i think i did well on however was being organized and prepared. Even though i got thrown off, i was still able to talk about all of my main points.
Overall i am not satisfied with this. I practiced at home when i made the salad for my best friend. But when i did it in class i felt distracted by the classes response and reaction.

I think our group did a good job over all. We had a few glitches during the presentation, but i feel like a lot of that was from nerves. We had practiced a few times so we knew the logistics. I think that we did a suffcient amount of preparation so i feel that we were all ready and did not have to read off of the notecards.
As a team for next time i feel like we can have better communication. We had a problem with people forgetting when we were meeting, so i think that sending out an email and reminding before would be helpful. Overall i think we worked well as a group. We all had good ideas and everyone seemed to agree with how we would present. Erin did a good job setting the scene up. She put together a powerpoint on her own time to help establish a location and help the audience understand where we were. So I appreciate her doing that extra work to help us.
I really like my group, and i feel like we have good chemistry. We have become friends and its a fun environment to work in because we all get along so well.

In past speech classes I have been told that i read off my note cards. So this time, i wanted to make sure that didnt happen. However, because of that, i strayed away from my original speech. Once i brought up a main point i just kept going and i didnt look at my note cards to guide me back on track.
However, i feel that i did good with not looking at my cards, and my speech still made sense and worked; there were just different details. I also think i did well with making sure i looked at everyone in the audience. I thought that everyone had an interesting story to tell and i really enjoyed listening to everyone.
The first speech is always the toughest so i hope that with this feedback i can do better next time.

I thought that our last class was very interesting. We talked about ethical communication and how to be an ethical speaker. A lot of it was common sense, such as being polite when others are speaking, and to speak loudly and clearly for everyone to hear you. People just need to take it to heart and really respect the speaker.

Hey class,
Welcome to my blog. My name is Annie and I am a sophmore IPC major. Some of you may remember me as the townie which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you ask. But I do come in handy when you’re looking for good food, shopping, and directions. Ive lived in Bowling Green since the day I was born so besides traveling, I have never had a change of scenery. I do like to travel and get out of this town as often as I can. I go to Canada and Mexico every summer and spring for a week with my family which is always something i look forward to. I go to Texas a lot which is random, but I probably go at least every other month. But my favorite vacation I ever took was going to Spain. My senior year of high school I got to go to Spain with my family. It was a heck of a trip getting over there with passport issues and such, but overall it was an amazing adventure. Im planning on studying abroad next spring semester, hopefully in Australia. If any of you guys have studied abroad and had a good experience let me know! Im a little nervous and can’t settle on a destination so I am open to suggestions.
