I am proud to welcome you all to the Splatter Section!
This site will be putting you up close and personal with all the bloody, gruesome news and information in the world of horror. If you find yourself viciously searching for a different and unique perspective on the genre, look no further than right here.
For as long as I can remember, I have been an avid horror fan. In fact, if it wasn’t for my mother (and a little help from John Carpenter) I would most likely be writing about lollipops and ponies right now. So, I guess I have a lot to be thankful for.
The rather unorthodox parenting of my mother proved to be beneficial as I developed a deep love for horror films and admiration for the culture they have helped create:
Horror films, in my opinion, evoke the one emotion that everyone can relate to on almost the same level: fear. While everyone can experience feelings of love, happiness, sadness, laughter, etc., they all experience those feelings in millions of different ways. But with fear, I believe that the results are much more similar among most groups of people.
My point is: everyone can get scared watching a horror movie. Maybe not from all of the same ones, but every single person knows what it’s like to feel that rush of being scared; to see the knife-wielding killer come out of the darkness or to know exactly when the monster will appear but still jump at the sight of it.
It is that rush, that feeling of intense, pulse-pounding fear that both entertains and terrifies movie-goers worldwide. That feeling is why I started this site.
I know there are many people out there just like me. People that love horror movies for what they are and what they have done for the art of film as a whole.
It is my pledge to bring together a community of people that want a different opinion on the genre and also want to have their own opinions and perspectives heard. This is an open forum. Not just for me, but for all of you sick, twisted, evil horror fans out there that want a place to talk about what scares us the most.
