Practice PSA Analysis

I Didn’t use this PSA for my rhetorical analysis

Readers:All the probable readers are going to be between the ages of 16 to 30, but probably closer to ages between 18 and 23. They will be seniors in high school, in any level of college, or working for a job that doesn’t require a college diploma. The reader is most likely to be in a position of little to no power and it doesn’t matter what gender they are. The readers value the humor because this is a funny PSA, and also they value a drug free world. The range of possible positions on the issue is very wide. This is because the humor in this can be taken sarcastically on the issue of drugs or it can also be taken as a great way of relating to the youth on this critical topic.

Essay:The video is all about humor and relating drugs to a monster. It demonstrates how badly drugs may effect people.

Author: The Producers have made a few films that are on YouTube, so they look professional and credible.

Limitations: The audience is in highschool or college. High school students have knowledge and eduction only to the 12th grade at most. This limits their experience and vocabulary so the author had to be aware of the text’s simplicity. In addition the limitations from the author is not knowing all the research behind the topic and also limited vocabulary.

Motivation:The author’s motivation appears to be for the concern of people, teens and young adults in particular, and their use of drugs. It isn’t definite though because the author’s humor is so above and beyond that they could possibly be making fun of real PSAs concerning the issue on drugs.
