I need to put my address on the cover letter and also my signature. Also I need to stay consistent with my punctuation on my resume.

I need to include vocabulary that will make the cover letter look more professional. In addition I need to revise my resume to focus it more towards what the job ad is looking for. I will need to add specifically what I did in previous jobs to show my background experience in this field.

A resume is a description of a person’s background. It tells the person looking at it, what this person’s prior experiences are, and what qualifications this person has. They are organized so the reader can see the different categories clearly and they should be updated regularly. They should include information that is relevant for recent job searches. Resumes open the door for job opportunities.

I think I did everything possible to finish my essay. My strengths were when I said how the author has good pathos. I don’t know my weaknesses until you grade the paper and tell me what they were. I don’t know what I’d do differently until you give me my graded paper back.

3/31 Revisions

Revision is a processed used to correct gramatical errors, wording that doesn’t sound or flow right, and recognizing if the paper has covered the topic with enough backing evidence. Revisions are used to make papers more professional from rough draft copies. Revising a paper helps by fixing all the lose ends so readers can understand the main idea and won’t feel like they are bouncing around from idea to idea.

  1. Compare what Taylor advised me to do with what I have.
  2. Make the changes that I feel appropriate.
  3. Reread and put finishing touches on the paper.

3/25 Rhetorical Analysis

I have the basic idea down on what I need to do, but it’s been a little harder than I expected to fill three pages worth. I’ve been catching myself describing the PSA in detail piece by piece to fill up space instead of narrowing it down to my analysis.

2/23 Writing Criteria

  • Correct use of grammar
  • Organized ideas: Not bouncing around
  • Clear idea on topic: Is the thesis clear and does the paper back it up.
  • Use of rhetorical appeals: Good use of techniques, persuasive

Rhetorical Analysis 3/18

Both samples tell the specifics of who they are analyzing and what text that person did. The sample about George Bush has an introduction that is a little more vague at the beginning. This sample is setting up its argument by stating the bases of the letter from Bush and telling the thesis of the analysis. “My Culture at the Crossroads” also begins by telling who they are analyzing and what piece of work. It differs in the introductory by getting into detail in the introductory.
