The site discussed the importance of using Cloud Finance when creating a financial plan for a business. I have included a few of the top 10 laws of cloud computing:
• Less is more! Leverage the cloud everywhere you can.
• Study the sales learning curve and only invest behind success.
• Forget everything you learned about software channels.
• By definition, your sales prospects are online- Savvy online marketing is a core competence.
• The most important part of Software-as-a-Service isn’t “Software” it’s “Service”! Support, support, support!
• Mind the GAAP! Cloud accounting is all about matching revenue and costs to consumption….well, except for professional services!
• Cloudonomics requires that you plan your fuel stops very carefully.
These cloud computing laws are great ways to understand how to get started and understand what needs to be done to have a successful business using Cloud Computing.

    Pamela,

Agreed in the main with the points raised, but one other addition to your list I would add is understanding a clients data requirements. For instance in the UK we are subject to the data protection act and as such need to know data location. Recently there has been a swing away from the major US based cloud providers due to the Patriot Act regulations US companies are bound by in terms of data interception.

My new Cloud Computing site will feature a blog post on this shortly let me know if you want a copy of this research by email.

My view is that data regulation and the cloud are interlinked and we will see a lot more localisation of data storage requests which means setting up a cloud service which transcends national borders requires this one additional research due-diligence step.

My perspective is that information control and the cloud are interconnected and we will see much more localisation of data storage needs which means establishing a cloud service which goes beyond national borders needs this one extra research.
