Chapter 6 Blog
A key point from Chapter 6 that I enjoyed was the explanation on, how do you get started with video and photo tools? The steps for digital storytelling was laid out in an easy to follow format (step-by-step) that made it simple for most people to follow. I have created a small video on movie-maker in the past, but I never got the real feel for it and the video never really came together well. When I read these steps it made it so much more clearer on how to develop a successful movie, etc.
After reading the six elements of digital stories to add to fist part of digital storytelling, these steps brought everything together to complete a wonderful video movie. Finally the editing and using Picasa to make your photos fit and look good in your video was also easy to follow and understand. Now I am ready to create not only personal videos but some for the classroom and businesses. I would have used this tool when I was working full time to create a video for my employees to show them step a by step procedure they were not sure how to do. This tool can very useful in the business world, not only for the employees but for the customers. Especially for the customers when trying to put a piece of furniture together (Sauder Furniture Co.) and they can bring it up on their computer, download the video and watch while putting it together. So many options with this type of tool.

I agree with your post about the value of the How to get started section of the chapter! Personally, I feel like sometimes it can be overwhelming to begin using new visual tools, and this section makes it very simple. Great idea about creating tools for employees about step-by-step processes about company policies!! I feel like often company videos are so out of date and horrible to watch, using visual tools like screenr can really make these videos more entertaining to watch!
