Along with everything else, the group of people on this trip was amazing. We all looked out for each other throughout the entire trip. The majority of us did not know one another yet we all bonded and had an awesome experience together. Every meal, even the ones we chose on our own, we ate together. Very rarely did we separate from each other. This helped make the trip the best it could be.
I also learned so much about the culture and got to experience the beautiful country of Panama in the best way I could think of. We took a boat on the canal and it was incredible to get to see how traveling through it works. Also, it was super cool getting to try all new kinds of food in Panama. I’ve been all over the place and the food in Panama was some of the best I’ve ever had. However, my favorite part was when we went to the island on our final day and had a beach day. The guides really showed us the best and most real parts of their country.
The whole point of this class and the trip to Panama was to learn about marketing and overall business in Panama. We visited everything from logistics centers to ASW which is the distributor of Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein to all of Latin America. My favorite part was visiting the ASW group because clothing is one of the areas where I believe I would be interested in working once I graduate. Plus, I felt like they were so excited to have us and gave so much information that it felt very genuine. Overall, I feel like I learned a lot from this experience and gained knowledge about a wide range of new and exciting topics.
