Revision Plans
After the peer review process I got some great feedback and the changes I intend on making are creating a stronger and more obvious thesis. I want to make my thesis evident and I want people to know what I am arguing for in my paper. I also plan on reducing some of my counterargument against cheerleading and having a more concise conclusion.

The topic that I am proposing to discuss is the issue of cheerleading not being considered a sport. Cheerleading requires a lot of time, dedication, and hardwork; a lot of the same requirements for other sports. Yet, at the most, cheerleading is considered to be a club or activity. This subject means alot to me because I was a cheerleader for five years and as a squad we received so much grief about how what we did wasn’t that hard to do. This is just one of the many reasons that I am extremely passionate about this subject and want to write my argumentative essay about this topic.

The city of Lorain has a population of about 65,000 people. There are several towns, townships, and villages that are sub-cities of Lorain. I live in Amherst where President Barack Obama stopped by the pub Ziggy’s for a beer and some pizza. I went to Clearview High School in the Clearview School District which consists of the high school, middle school, and elementary school. In the four years that I attended Clearview our football team made it to the playoffs, our baseball team has won the conference championship, our girls volleyball team has won the district championship, and our boys basketball team made it the regionals where they played against Celina High School right here at BGSU. Our cheerleading squad, which I was a part of for 4 years, also competed in the district competition where we placed fourth.
Our district is pretty small which makes all of us closer together. Whenever a community member is in need, people in the Clearview community tend to go out of their way to lend a helping hand. For instance, earlier this year it was annouced that a valued member named Brad Anderson had cirosis of the liver (non-alcoholic). Immediately Facebook pages, blogs, and websites were made about this heartbreaking issue. People knew that something had to be done to help Mr. Anderson, who needed a considerable amount of money to get the transplant he desperately needed to survive. Fundraisers of all kinds were put together to help obtain some of this money. and of course every member who could help did help. And I am happy to say that Mr. Anderson finally had his operation last week and we’re all praying for everything to continue without a hitch. This sense of family and togetherness makes me proud to have been Clearview Clipper and to now be an alumni of that school.
Lorain is known for being extremely diverse. We host a festival every year that highlights the different cultures that our city and sub-cities are made up of. This festival attracts people from all over the state and sometimes the country. There are vendors and tents that sell German, Phillipino, Jamaican and all other kinds of foods from different parts if the world. There is a princess pageant that girls from different high schools in the area compete in for the title of the Lorain International Princess. They also have other events where people from different culture- based clubs can show off some the traditional dances, music, and outfits that are native to their city or country. Lorain is a special city that accepting of all ethnicities and embraces all cultures openly.
