    • We will be refreshing approximately 120 new laptops this summer, which includes inventory management, loading the image, and distributing the equipment that would be appropriate for an intern.
    • Assist with IT asset management – Work with IT personnel to identify and record system assets
    • Work with Sharepoint Admin to streamline corporate intranet site and identify automation possibilities for future projects
    • Conference Room Prep – Provide daily walk through of conference rooms to test equipment and reset configurations.
    • Monitor IT systems for performance and anomalies, review business processes, respond to trouble ticket inquiries and work with internal customers to resolve issues. Timing: All part-time or fulltime over Summer duration

Looking for an on-campus internship? Interested in social media?  Want to get hands-on experience managing a social media account before you graduate?

This internship is through BGSU’s Office of Marketing and Communications. It’s an unpaid internship, but you can receive credit. Main duties will be finding and posting content to social media accounts for BGSU and BGSU Alumni.

Social media accounts include: Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. Most of your work will primarily be on Snapchat and Instagram.

Qualifications desired: 

Good writer who is also a good and creative storyteller and can pay attention to detail.

At least some experience using all platforms mentioned.

Video/editing, and photography skills a plus but not required.

CIFT Summer Marketing and Comm Internship

Since 1995, the Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT) has provided a unique blend of business solutions, innovation and technical expertise to the food processing, agricultural and manufacturing sectors.  These services are designed to enhance the economic performance of the industries and create new jobs.

CIFT has worked with hundreds of food companies, equipment suppliers, service providers, university researchers, governmental agencies, legislators, general manufacturers and many more.  As a result, many new technologies have emerged, industry best practices have been established, and novel business approaches have been discovered.  Through an industry-driven methodology, businesses have benefited throughout Ohio and beyond.

The marketing and communications department at CIFT will hire one interested student for an internship during the summer 2018 (May through August) term.  The following areas will be some of the responsibilities for our intern who wants to learn while contributing to our organization’s non-profit mission:

  • Assist in maintaining timely social media content.
  • Event planning.
  • Write/edit content for printed materials including flyers, newsletters, brochures, advertisements, speaker bios, signage, etc.
  • Assist marketing and communications department in various projects.
  • Perform other duties as directed (handling mailings, etc.).

SIOP’s communications staff works with association leadership to achieve strategic goals, raising visibility for the profession and meeting the information needs of members. Marketing & Public Relations Internship- Paid $14.00/hr.

Moo Moo Express Car Wash is Central Ohio’s award-winning express car wash with 13 locations and growing! We are looking for a creative and energetic individual with strong communication and organization skills to propel our Marketing and PR to the next level. This part-time (15-20 hours/week) paid position will require consistent weekend availability beginning mid-May, 2018 to manage various promotions through mid-August.

Candidates must reside in Columbus, Ohio area and have own transportation. This position will require traveling around Central Ohio for promotional events. Regular onsite work will take place at the Moo “Corporate Barn” located at 13375 National Rd. in Etna, Ohio.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the development and execution of comprehensive marketing communications tactics targeted to increase awareness of the Moo Moo Express Car Wash brand
  • Manage promotions at Central Ohio festivals and events
  • Implement PR & promotions activities surrounding store openings
  • Support “Moo Cares” community relations program
  • Support “Cow Tips” fundraising program

Qualifications:

Photojournalism grant available

Photojournalists, graduate students and undergraduates can apply for a grant.

The Alexia Foundation seeks applicants for its professional and student photography grants, which aim to help photographers produce substantial picture stories that further the foundation’s goals of promoting world peace and cultural understanding.

Applicants must submit a concise, focused and meaningful story proposal, demonstrating the ability to visually execute a story with compelling images.

The winner of the professional grant will receive US$20,000 for the production of his or her proposed project.

Awards for graduate and undergraduate students include tuition for study at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in Syracuse, New York, and US$500 to US$1,000 cash grants.

The deadline is Feb. 1 for professional grants and March 1 for student grants.

Scholarships available for journalism conference

Undergraduate and graduate students ages 18 to 25 who are committed to a career in journalism can apply to attend this conference.

Future News Worldwide 2018, organized by the British Council and media partners, will take place July 5 and 6 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The event aims to help young people develop journalism skills and establish the United Kingdom as a global leader in the nurturing of young journalists and media figures.

Attendance at the conference is fully funded for successful applicants, including airfare, accommodations and meals.

Candidates can come from any region of the world but must speak English at IELTS 6.5 or above.

The deadline is Feb. 28.
