Sentinel-Tribune General Assignment Reporting Internship

The Sentinel-Tribune in Bowling Green is seeking a student general assignment reporter who will have the opportunity to tackle several different beats in a growth-based internship opportunity. The right candidate must be a creative self-starter, thorough, and willing to ask the hard questions and not stop until getting the story. Knowledge of AP style is a plus. This opportunity will also include training into other areas including design and multimedia publishing, as time and/or need allows.

Platforms used include:

  • InCopy
  • InDesign
  • BLOX content management systems
  • Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram

Tasks would include, but are not limited to:

  • General assignment reports
  • Beat development
  • Spot/breaking news
  • Page layout
  • Page preflight/production

This internship can flexible around a student’s schedule, as long as general reporting is met for daily production needs. This internship also can be tailored to meet the requirements of BGSU internship/credit standards.

Social Media Intern: We Are One Team

WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) is looking for a Social Media Communication intern to join our team for the 2016 fall semester! Our fast-growing initiative is continuously seeking new ways to increase our exposure and create awareness in the BGSU and Bowling Green communities.
The Social Media Communication intern will work closely with WA1T leadership to help create high-quality communication materials and develop innovative strategies to contribute to the success of WE ARE ONE TEAM (WA1T) at BGSU. The primary responsibilities for this internship are:
 Develop and maintain a social media plan for the 2016-2017 academic year
 Develop promotional materials to be shared via our social media accounts
 Manage our social media photo campaign (contact potential campaign members, write & assign campaign statements, organize photo shoots, etc.)
 Create and schedule posts for WA1T projects/programming on social media
 Assist in designing and creating content for a WA1T website
 Represent WA1T at promotional events (e.g. Campus Fest)
 Attend weekly intern meetings and general member meetings as well as monthly Leadership Board meetings
 Work closely with the PR/Communication intern for our Falcon Funded campaign

Center for Innovative Food Technology Intern (Fall 2016)

The Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT), based in Toledo, Ohio, is a developer and provider of technical innovations and solutions for the food processing, agribusiness and agricultural sectors of the economy in our region, our state and beyond. These innovations and solutions are developed in order to enhance the economic performance of the food processing and agricultural sectors.

The marketing and communications department at CIFT will hire one interested student for an internship during the fall 2016 (August through December) term. The following areas will be some of the responsibilities:

1) Write/edit content for printed materials including flyers, newsletters, brochures, advertisements, speaker bios, signage, etc.
2) Assist in maintaining large online database of contacts.
3) Event planning.
4) Breakfast forum planning.
5) Research and evaluate potential marketing opportunities for CIFT.
6) Assist in maintaining timely website and social media content.
7) Ensuring media list remains up to date.
8) Create media kits for CIFT events.
9) Assist marketing and communications department in various projects.
10) Perform other duties as directed (handling mailings, etc.).

6 & 11pm Anchor/Reporter wanted. Your Hometown Lima Stations in West Central Ohio is in search of 6-6:30pm & 11-11:35pm anchor/reporter for our NBC Lima station. This is a small market with BIG opportunities. We have all four major networks under one roof. If you have anchoring, reporting and some producing experience and are looking to fill a frontline anchor chair for our top rated newscasts, I want to hear from you.

We do have live capabilities.Winning candidate will go live from the field on occasion. Ability to edit non-linear systems is essential. We use Final Cut Pro. You will be required to take writing, editing and shooting tests. In addition you will do an anchor air check. The position requires one person band reporting in between shows. Knowledge of Ohio and Midwest helpful but not essential. ENPS experience a plus, as is knowledge of social media, i.e. Facebook and be able to post stories on our Website. We use World Now.

Looking for a creative individual who can help produce and anchor a fast paced, informative newscast. Winning candidate must be a team player with at least two years anchoring experience preferred.

Applicants must have a college degree in broadcast journalism/communications related field. Must pass a BMV background check and drug test before hiring.
