Williams-Mystic educates undergraduates in a semester-long investigation of the sea accompanied by research and travel throughout the United States.

Fast Facts:

  • – Open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors of ALL majors
  • – Students do not pay more out of pocket to participate in our program than they do to attend their home institutions
  • – Two BGSU students have participated in the program (Me, S’18 and Emily Boll (marine biology) F’19).
  • – 18 credits transfer from Williams College (number one liberal arts college in the country) to BGSU
  • – Travel throughout the United States. Places past students have gone: Alaska, Hawaii, California, Pacific Northwest, Gulf of Maine, Caribbean Sea
  • – All students study the ocean, and its connection to present day life and challenges, with an interdisciplinary focus.
  • – Williams-Mystic has over 1,700 alumni all working in different fields. The network is strong and supports young graduates.
