How to use RSS readers

RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication.” It’s an easy way to keep up with new content on your favorite news sites and blogs. Instead of having to check the sites constantly to see what’s new, you can have content sent to you on a single home page.

All you need is a subscription to an RSS reader like Google Reader and one or more websites with an RSS feed – usually shown with an orange square symbol. In addition, if you want to create a custom search, you can set up a Google Alert and have it sent to your reader instead of your e-mail.
