Speech 3 Reflection
For our group speech, we decided to present a wedding toast. Each of our group members had a different role in the “wedding” and that role guided our portion of the speech. My role was the maid of honor. I think that my portion of the speech was focused on the different things maid of honors would typically say at a wedding. It was hard to make stuff up to speak about because our bride was a made up person. I used my best friend from home to get ideas about what to talk about. I think that my outline was creative enough for the purpose of the speech. I had a little bit of trouble following the outline as I was presenting the speech. For some reason I completely blanked out when I was speaking and didn’t say everything that I had practiced. I think that besides my slight forgetfulness I did a good job presenting. I tried to have good eye contact and speak clearly and loud enough for everyone to hear. I think that the other members of the group did a good job presenting their parts of the speech. The one concern we had was that we never got to say our conclusion because the class just assumed we were done and started clapping but we still had a cute little conclusion to say to the “bride and groom”.
