European Union Simulation Opportunity

January7
Dear students,
For 20 years, the University of Pittsburgh’s European Union Studies Center has hosted a model European Union simulation. BGSU students have participated in this simulation since 2009. Twice, our teams were able to win the simulation.
This is a co-curriculum activity. Participating students receive a certificate of participation from the University of Pittsburgh as well as BGSU’s Political Science department. There is also the opportunity to turn this experience into an independent study project. This opportunity comes at NO COSTS to participating students!!!!
Attached is the invitation and agenda for the 2015 simulation. We have been assigned three countries: UK, Latvia and Luxembourg.
The teams meet once a week (ca. 90 minutes) to research country positions with regard to the summit issues (see attachment), discuss procedures and learn about European integration in general.
Travel dates are: Friday & Saturday, February 27th and 28th (we usually leave on Fri noon and return on Saturday evening).
Interested people should get in touch with Dr. Fritsch (sfritsc@bgsu.edu) as soon as possible.
Please spread the word, even if you are not personally interested.
With best regards
Stefan Fritsch
