A Texas man allegedly broke into homes of four members of the same sorority and sexually assualted the women. Police are currently on the look-out to arrest this individual who seeks women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to sexaully assault. All victims are black, female, and are in mid-50s to mid-60s. According to the original story from CNN, “no names for the suspect have been reported,” however each of the victims were able to describe the suspect as a black male in his late-30s to mid-40s, weighing 275-300 pounds, and between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9-tall.
According to Corinth Police Capt. Greg Wilkerson, the assaults happened in “residential settings” on October 14 between 9:15 p.m and 4 a.m., 35 miles northwest of Dallas, when victims were alone and where the suspect could try to conceal his identity. Wilkerson released additional information that the Corinth police department is currently processing DNA evidence. Police Capt. added, “authorities do not know how the suspect learned details of the victims, speculating it may have been over the internet, by accessing an old directory or noticing would-be victims with Delta Sigma Theta jewelry, placards or other paraphernalia out in public.”
Cynthia M.A. Butler-McIntyre, Delta Sigma Theta’s president said, “To think that our members are being targeted is disturbing and extremely disheartening. Until the individual responsible for these crimes is brought to justice, we will continue to remain in close communication with one another and law enforcement officials.” In agreement, the Washington based head-quarter’s released a statement urging all members of Delta Sigma Theta to take precaution.
